Mae Phim
Have so much to
offer
An undiscovered
pearl on the
coast
Would you like
to stay a bit
longer in
Thailand? Are
you looking for
a beautiful
place where you
can stay a part
of the year? May
be during the
winter or
longer.
Are you fond of
Thailand and
looking for
living aboard?
Then Mae Phim is
something you
should take a
closer look at.
Only 2 hours on
the new express
way from
Bangkok’s
international
airport is the
paradise beach
Mae Phim. Here
you will find a
beautiful
seafront
promenade that
stretches around
Mae Phim Beach,
a find sandy
beach with
crystal-clear
water and a
genuine Thai
environment.
Along the coast
is the famous
tourist isle Koh
Samet and it’s
only half hour
ride to shopping
centers in
Rayong and
Klaeng.
The still
unexplored
paradise Mae
Phim has for a
long time been
known amongst
Thais
themselves. The
crown price of
Thailand has one
of his big
houses here, and
there are
several hotels
like Novotel,
many
restaurants, and
the beach is a
popular place
for Thais
themselves at
week ends.
Mae Phim
is sometimes
named Laem Mae
Phim, Leam
stands for
“cape”. In Thai
we find the word
Koh “isle”
(those Koh Samet,
Koh Chang), Mae
Phim is a pearl
that up to now
is
proportionately
unexplored in
spite of being
close to
Bangkok.
Here you can
really relax and
drop all your
stress behind
you. The beach
is long with
fine-grained
sand and the
water a tempting
blue and very
warm. But if you
don’t want to be
lazy in the sun
all the time
there are plenty
of other things
to do. Why not
try snorkeling
or even learn to
dive. Go for a
ride around Mae
Phim on a horse
is another
adventure you
can experience.
Diving
The waters
around Mae Phim
are very good
for diving.
Clear water and
a tropical,
sparkling world
awaits you. So
take a
snorkeling trip
and experience a
colourful new
world of
Thailand
Restaurants
Along the beach
road you can
find about 50
different
restaurants
which cater to
locals and
tourists alike.
You will have a
fantastic food
experience from
the domestic sea
food kitchen.
It’s a great
feeling to sit
under the reed
roofs and
experience the
scent of chili,
curry, and lime
mixed with
tropical seaside
ambience. And
prices are
always minimal.
Market
The market place
in Mae Phim is
different than
in the big
cities with
emphasis in
essential daily
goods as opposed
to copied name
brands. It’s
charming place
to meet the
local people
offering what’s
needed for daily
life: textile’s,
tool’s, clothes,
bags, etc. it’s
a true
experience of
genuine Thailand
to go strolling
about the market
place.
Koh Samed
Located right
outside Mae Phim
and Rayong is
Koh Samet. This
magnificent isle
with chalk-white
sand and swaying
palm trees has
some of
Thailand’s best
beaches. You
can’t find much
traffic on Koh
Samet as it is
classified as a
national park.
White Sand Beach
is the most
popular, here
you find
bungalows and
many reataurants.
Take off your
sandals, take a
walk along the
beach, eat a
great sea food
meal, watch the
sunset and just
lean back and
enjoy, enjoy,
enjoy.
Koh Man Isles
This little
group of 3
isles: Koh Man
Nai, Koh man
Klang, Koh Man
Nok have been
preserved and
have exception
coral reefs. The
smallest isle,
Man Nai is only
100 meters wide
it’s a sea
turtle reserve
that is
supported by the
queen of
Thailand.
On Man Klang and
Man Nok you will
find fantastic
beaches and that
rent equipment
for snorkeling,
sailing, and
canoe trips
Bahn Phe
The small
fishing village
has great sea
food and some
nice shopping.
Boats go from
here regularly
to the isles
around as Koh
Samet.
Klaeng
14 km from Mae
Phim you find
the small city
Kleng that has
markets,
shopping
centers,
traditional
shops,
furniture’s,
banks, hospital,
etc.
Rayong
A small city
that is growing
fast and has all
the big
department
store: Lotus,
Carrefour,
Index, Robinson,
etc. Around
Rayong you will
find nice
excursion
places, going up
to the mountains
and walking in
the jungle to
discover
fantastic water
falls, enormous
underground
caves and many
temples.
