Kood island
ranks as the forth-largest island in the country. It lies among its
52-island chain in the Trad province, which is the close neighbor to the
People's Republic of Because of its remote distance from urban, the island is renowned for its spectacular virginity. Koh Kood still maintains its natural perfection of white sandy beach, a line of hills abundantly covered with wild vegetation and fauna which have occupied this territory long before human dwellers. In the past decades, only villagers and fishermen have been living on this island. The official figure at present shows that there are less than 1,500 villagers on the area of 127 square kilometers. The best time of year to visit Koh Kood is in early November until the end of February because of its relatively cool, dry and sunny weather. After the month of May is the monsoon season which typically be the heaviest rainy period.
