To start at 1 the Old City Hall, (ศาลากลางจังหวัดลำปางหลังเก่า) you can pay homage to the Black Buddha or Phraphud Nilo Kantarai Chaiwat Jaturatid, installed in 2 Black Buddha Shrine (ศาลาหลวงพ่อดำ) which emphasizes the tetrahedron structure. Black Buddha was installed with black metal by the Territorial Defense Black Buddha’s to be placed in the North (Lampang), the South, the East and the West. Black Buddha is the symbol of the nation and is paid homage to, by the people. Leaving from the Black Buddha Shrin, go northward, then turn left at the end of the street and you will reach the old business area, the Southern Wang River. The transport of goods by boat was convenient and economical. In a previous time Talad Gao Road, (ถนน ตลาดเก่า) which means old market, was called Chinese market Road (ถนนตลาดจีน) because it used to be the business area for Chinese people. You can see old wooden building and old concrete building while you’re traveling along the road. The first concrete Building on your left is 3 the old red concrete Building, Tuekdang Building (อาคารตึกแดง). It was constructed you view is the Thai traditional medicine old drug store in the old red concrete building, named Boonsong Store. Opposite the old red concrete building are wooden and concrete buildings which aptly show the life style of the Chinese family. 4 Ban Maedang (บ้านแม่แดง) is near Tuekdang Building. It is the fabric showroom of carried designs and styles. Tourists can see and buy them daily. Going through Thipwan Road, connected with Talad Gao Road and Thipchang Road, you’ll reach Market and Ratchawong Market near Thipwan Road.
You will see 5 Muangnguaysin Building (อาคารหม่องง่วยสิ่น) on your right. The wooden and concrete building is five buildings wide and two floors high. Burmese people used to stay here for trading during the reign of King Rama V. On the first weekend of the month, dry goods, handicraft products and many materials are sold to the tourists.
Before reaching the crossroads, you will arrive at 6 Old Kuanghualee Building, (กวงฮั่วหลีเก่า) built with wood and brick, on your right. The outstanding structure was decorated with teak woodcarving. Chinese people were the old owners and traded the wood. The building’s old name was Kuanglee.
Going along the way and returning to Boonyawart Road by passing 7 Clock Tower, (ห้าแยกหอนาฬิกา) you will reach 8 Wat Suandok (วัดสวนดอก) on your left. The vihara was beautifully at 9 Wat Boonyawartworavihara. (วัดบุญวาทย์วรวิหาร)
