From Bangkok to Changwat Saraburi via Pak Chong. At Amphoe
Sikhiu, turn left to Highway 201, passes Amphoe Dan Khun Thot
and Chanwat Chaiyaphum for a distance of 329 kilometers. Then,
drive for 90 kilometers to Amphoe Phu Khiao and Amphoe Chum
Phae, and another 121 kilometers to Amphoe Muang Loei. A total
distance of 540 kilometers.
From Bangkok-Saraburi-Nakhon Ratchasima-Khon-Kaen-Nong Khai,
covers 616 kilometers. Turn left to Highway 211 past Amphoe Tha
Bo, Si Chiang Mai, and Sanfkhom to enter Loei at Pak Chom. Drive
past Chiang Khan to Muang Loei. A total distance of 815
kilometers. The route along the Mekong from Si Chiang Mai to
Chiang Khan is very scenic, especially in summer time when
hidden islands and islets in the Mekong are revealed.
Another popular scenic route is
Bangkok-Saraburi-Petchaburi-Amphoe Lom Sak. Then, follow Highway
203 past Dan Sai and Phu Ruea to Muang Loei. A total distance of
536 kilometers. The scenic route from Dan Sai is winding along
the mountains, thus presenting to travelers the first impression
of Loei as city of sea of Mountain.
